ASTANA, Sep 4 - Sputnik. Kanat Sharlapaev has been appointed Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

"By the decree of the head of state, Kanat Bisimbayevich Sharlapayev has been appointed Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan," Akorda reports.

Sharlapaev was born in 1981 in the Saratov region.

Since February 2022, he has been the Chairman of the Board of Baiterek National Managing Holding JSC. He has 17 years of experience in the banking sector. In 2020-2022 - Regional Director for Strategy, Planning and Analysis in the Emerging Markets of Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe of an investment bank City (UAE).

In 2017-2020, he was Chief Financial Officer for Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan, Senior Vice President of Citibank Russia.
