Envoy: attempts to destabilize the North Caucasus are doomed to failure, Russia is united

Yuri Chaika also called on all those who are not indifferent to the tragic events that unfolded in the Middle East not to break the law and not to succumb to the blatant provocations of foreign special services.

Attempts by foreign special services to bring discord to peace and stability in the North Caucasus are doomed to failure, Russia has always been united, Russian Presidential Envoy to the North Caucasus Federal District Yuri Chaika said.

According to him, such attempts are doomed due to "the common sense and sense of fraternal unity of all peoples, regardless of nationality and religion, inhabiting our macro-region."

The envoy also called on all those who are not indifferent to the tragic events that unfolded in the Middle East not to break the law and not to succumb to the blatant provocations of foreign special services that are trying by any means to destabilize the situation in the country and split Russian society.

"Violation of the law during the difficult period that Russia is going through carries an additional burden and has special consequences. Organizers and participants of the riots will face imminent criminal punishment. Remember: those who make a mess at home are not helping those in need, but pouring water on the enemy's mill. Only in unity and harmony is our strength! This has always been the case and will always be the case!" the representative of the Russian head of state emphasized.

Recall that last Sunday in Makhachkala, local residents broke through to the airport runway after the arrival of a flight from Tel Aviv. It was reported that they were supposedly looking for Israeli citizens who had flown in, and riots broke out.

Law enforcement agencies arrived at the scene. The Mufti of Dagestan, Akhmad Abdulayev, in a video message, called it a mistake to speak out against Jews and called on his co-religionists to calm down. Soon, the regional authorities announced that the situation was under control, and the Federal Air Transport Agency reported that the airfield was cleared of unauthorized people. An alarm sounded at the airport, after which people began to disperse, the air harbor was closed. According to the Federal Air Transport Agency, the temporary closure of the airport will last, tentatively, until October 31.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that a criminal case was opened on mass riots, more than 150 active participants were identified, 60 of them were detained. According to the Ministry of Health of the republic, during the events at the airport, more than 20 people were injured-both security forces and civilians: more than 10 were slightly injured, 10 were taken to hospitals, and two were in extremely serious condition.
