EDB predicts high growth of the Tajik economy in 2023

It is expected that the expansion of capacities in key industries and the implementation of government programs will increase GDP by 7.9%

The Adjik economy will continue to grow steadily due to the development of industry and an increase in domestic demand.

This was stated by analysts of the Eurasian Development Bank in a macro review - a forecast for 2023.

"The implementation of state programs will create conditions for expanding capacities in key industries. The rapid growth of the population and the catching-up nature of economic development creates the prerequisites for a high level of potential economic growth," the document says.

According to the EDB forecast, the expansion of capacities in key industries and the implementation of government programs will lead to high annual GDP growth - at the level of 7.9%.

Also, according to the document, the refinancing rate will remain at the level of 10% in the face of a slowdown in inflation, and the average annual dollar exchange rate will be about 10.8 somoni.

Earlier it was reported that the EDB will allocate $650 million for the implementation of priority projects in Tajikistan.
