Tajikistan invited to the first summit of the leaders of Central Asia and the United States

Tajikistan received an invitation to a meeting in the C5 + 1 format with the leaders of Central Asian countries and the United States, but no decision has yet been made on it, Deputy Foreign Minister Sodik Imomi said at a briefing, TASS reports.

“As for the meeting that is planned in the United States, then yes, we received an appropriate invitation, it is under consideration, a decision has not yet been made,” he said.

Earlier, the Tajik Foreign Ministry reported that on August 22, Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with Gary Peters, Chairman of the US Senate Committee on National Security and Government Affairs, in Dushanbe. The meeting participants discussed bilateral relations.

On August 23, the press service of the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, reported that during Peters's visit to Kazakhstan, the head of state received an invitation from US President Joe Biden to the first summit of the leaders of Central Asia and the United States.
