Moldovan border guards detained an Azerbaijani citizen on the border with Ukraine, who is wanted by Interpol on suspicion of committing cyber attacks.

"A member of an organized criminal group specializing in computer attacks, put on the international wanted list by the Azerbaijani authorities, was detained at the state border crossing point in the city of Otach. An arrest warrant was issued for a 36-year-old man, an Azerbaijani citizen, with a view to his extradition," the report says. .

At the border, the detainee showed a Ukrainian passport, but upon additional verification, the border guards established that he was in fact an Azerbaijani citizen and was on the international wanted list in the Interpol database. The suspect has been placed in a pre-trial detention cell in the city of Edinet, after which he will be transferred to Chisinau for investigation and sent home.
