Almost 11 thousand people are wanted in Kazakhstan – Prosecutor General’s Office
ALMATY, September 12 – Sputnik. The Committee on Legal Statistics of the General Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan reported that law enforcement officials put 10,748 people on the wanted list. Every fifth of them disappeared under unknown circumstances.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, of the 2,176 missing people, 77% are men aged 30 to 49 years.
Most of the missing were registered in Almaty - 287. Slightly less in the Karaganda region. More than 220 people left home or work here and never returned. The third and fourth places with a small gap are shared by Pavlodar and Almaty regions. 170 and 167 people disappeared here.
“1,634 people left home and did not return, 74 people disappeared with their vehicles, 36 people left work,” the Prosecutor General’s Office said in a statement.
In addition to the missing, 2,372 people are also wanted, hiding from investigation and trial. As the supervisory authority clarified, these are mainly men (89%) aged 31 to 40 years.
“The largest number of them are wanted for fraud (510), theft (318) and murder (146),” the Prosecutor General’s Office added.
Almaty is among the leaders in the anti-rating. There are 514 criminal suspects wanted here. Next on the list are Astana and Shymkent with indicators of 185 and 155 people, respectively. Almaty and Karaganda regions close the top five, where law enforcement officials put 143 and 140 people on the wanted list.
