Accident at the IAC: the schedule of power outages in Mangystau became known
Mangystau. August 15th. KAZAKHSTAN TODAY - Restrictions on the use of electric energy have temporarily come into force in Mangystau in accordance with the approved schedule, the Center for Public Communications of the Mangystau region reports. From the beginning of this week until the end of the working week in the cities of Aktau and Zhanaozen, as well as in a number of other settlements of the Mangystau region, a partial (fan) restriction of electricity consumption will be in effect. On August 14, specialists worked out various scenarios and drew up a schedule for the supply of electricity. At the moment, the schedule is made from Tuesday, August 15, to Friday, August 18, inclusive. The residents of the region will be notified in advance about the further possible extension of this power supply regime," the center reported. The schedule of restrictions on the days of the week can be found here. Recall that the accident at the MAEK led to partial restrictions on the supply of electricity to Mangystau. Due to an emergency power outage by MAEK LLP, nitrous gas was released into the atmosphere at the KazAzot plant. Until the elimination of the accident at the MAEK power units, it was decided to introduce a rolling power outage in the region. The authorities also stated that they do not plan to introduce an emergency regime in the region yet. Earlier in early July, a power unit at the MAEK was shut down in an emergency, in connection with which restrictions were imposed on industrial enterprises. Due to a power outage, the Atyrau refinery was stopped. Then the government said it would take a number of urgent and systemic measures to prevent similar crisis situations in the future. These include the modernization and reconstruction of MAEK LLP, strengthening of the western energy zone, ensuring stable external power supply to the ANPP and building its own energy source there, connecting the western zone with the unified electric power system of Kazakhstan, etc. 4.9 billion tenge was allocated for the repair of the MAEK.
