An internal investigation has been launched into the head of the Tashkent District Medical Association and his wife.

An internal investigation has been initiated following the appointment of Gulnora Asadova as the director of the Inter-district Perinatal Center by her husband, Husan Asadov, the head of the Tashkent District Medical Association.

According to reports, Gulnora Asadova assumed the position on October 12. The Anti-Corruption Agency has confirmed that an internal investigation into the matter has been ordered. The Tashkent Regional Health Department has also taken oversight of the situation. Article 121 of the Labor Code establishes restrictions regarding close relatives working in a relationship of direct subordination or supervision. Relevant authorities are currently examining the legality of the appointment.

Furthermore, one of the physicians who applied for the position of director of the perinatal center has alleged that pressure was exerted during the selection process. The applicant stated that they initially submitted their candidacy via the ARGOS platform, but the selection criteria were subsequently modified to include a requirement for academic activity or an advanced academic degree. As a result, this applicant and others were disqualified from the selection process. It has been stated that appropriate measures will be taken based on the findings of the investigation, in accordance with established legal procedures.
