It has been reported that a temperature inversion in Tashkent may persist for another 10 days. Individuals with chronic respiratory conditions are advised to avoid going outdoors.

According to experts, a combination of light winds, a lack of precipitation, and a temperature inversion is causing harmful substances—emitted by transport, industrial, and energy facilities—along with natural dust, to accumulate in the lower layers of the atmosphere. This situation in Tashkent could continue for another 10 days.

Those suffering from conditions such as bronchial asthma, allergic rhinitis, bronchitis, or other respiratory ailments are particularly advised to stay indoors as much as possible. If going outside is unavoidable, any anti-allergy medication should be taken only upon a doctor's recommendation.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has advised following these precautions during periods of dusty air:

🔹 Minimize time spent outdoors;
🔹 Keep windows closed;
🔹 Clean indoor surfaces using a damp cloth;
🔹 Place containers of water and damp towels around the home;
🔹 Use air conditioners and air purifiers;
🔹 Drink plenty of water and take showers;
🔹 Rinse the nasal and oral cavities with a saline solution. If you experience shortness of breath, coughing, sneezing, a runny nose, or itchy eyes due to dust, you should consult a doctor. In case of an emergency, you can call 103.

For reference, between October 21 and 26, the Air Quality Index in Tashkent rose from 93 to 164. Mineral dust accounted for 39.7% of the PM2.5 particles, while 42.6% consisted of emissions related to transport, industry, and the energy sector.
