Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated professionals in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors on their professional holiday and awarded a group of dedicated individuals with commemorative badges.

The Head of State noted that over the past decade, new polyclinics and hospitals—capable of serving a population of 10 million—have been launched, creating 58,000 jobs. As a result of the increase in modern medical institutions and the expansion of the private sector, the volume of medical services has tripled. More than a hundred complex medical procedures—previously performed only abroad, including organ transplants and robotic surgery—are now being carried out within Uzbekistan.

Furthermore, efforts to digitize the healthcare sector are ongoing, with plans to integrate artificial intelligence capabilities into the system. In the pharmaceutical sector, the goal is to meet 70 percent of the demand for medicines through domestic production. To this end, the "Tashkent Bio-Pharm City" cluster and several pharmaceutical free economic zones in various regions have been established. Projects with a total value of $1.2 billion are currently being implemented within these zones.
