Saida Mirziyoyeva presented awards to the winners of the “Zakovat-Gambit” chess tournament, which was held in Uzbekistan for the fifth time. Nearly 6,000 participants took part in this year’s competition—double the number from the previous year. Notably, 633 of the participants were women and girls, reflecting a growing interest in intellectual competitions across the country. It was highlighted that the “Zakovat” project not only helps discover talented youth but also fosters the development of independent thinking, a culture of reasoning, and the ability to make sound decisions. Furthermore, alongside Uzbekistan’s achievements on the international chess stage, efforts are also being directed toward expanding opportunities for the population to showcase their intellectual potential.
