Russian military personnel have arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the "Hamkorlik-2026" (Cooperation-2026) joint tactical exercises. This was reported by TASS, citing the press service of Russia’s Central Military District.
To reach the exercise site, the Russian contingent traveled over 300 kilometers across the mountainous regions of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. They brought with them equipment from the 201st Guards Military Base—stationed in Tajikistan—including BTR-82A armored personnel carriers, Ural trucks, and specialized vehicles built on KamAZ chassis.
The "Hamkorlik-2026" joint exercises will take place from October 20 to 27 at a training ground in the Surkhandarya region. During the drills, military personnel from both nations will practice joint operations to detect and neutralize small, simulated illegal armed groups in border areas. The exercises will involve mountain and assault units, reconnaissance and strike drones, ground-based robotic systems, and Mi-24 helicopters.
