People’s Artist of Uzbekistan Rajab Adashev was upset that he was not invited to a meeting between filmmakers and the President, held at the “Uzbekfilm” studio on October 26. This was reported by his grandson, director and actor Ibratbek Komilov.
“My grandfather is very hurt. Why is it that, in our country, artists are never appreciated while they are still alive? This was not the right thing to do,” wrote Ibratbek Komilov.

Rajab Adashev was born on July 15, 1944, in the Urgut District of the Samarkand Region. He graduated from the acting department of the Tashkent Theater and Arts Institute (named after Ostrovsky). His career in cinema began in 1964, and he has appeared in over 100 films.

Throughout his career, Rajab Adashev has received numerous honors and awards, including: an award for “Best Male Performance” for his role in the film *Abdullajon* (1993); the title of “Merited Artist of Uzbekistan” (1997); the title of “People’s Artist of Uzbekistan” (2010); the “Dostlik” (Friendship) Order (2021); and the titles of “Devotee of Art and Culture,” “Veteran of Labor,” and “Devotee of Cinematography” (2022).
