Young Man Sentenced to 7 Days in Jail for Injuring a Cat’s Leg

A 24-year-old man in Tashkent’s Shaykhontohur district was sentenced to seven days of administrative detention for abusing his neighbor’s cat and injuring its leg.

The incident occurred on October 28 in an apartment building. While intoxicated, the man grabbed his neighbor’s cat, named Simba, choked it, and twisted its leg. A veterinary examination revealed a fracture in the cat’s front left leg.

In court, the man claimed he had wanted to record a video with the cat and did not realize he had injured it because he was drunk. He expressed remorse and asked for leniency.

The court found him guilty of animal cruelty and sentenced him to seven days of administrative detention.
