At the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) summit in Ankara on October 30, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed simplifying travel procedures for citizens of member states.
To this end, he suggested developing a multilateral agreement to expand the use of ID cards for travel, as well as simplify border crossing procedures and the rules governing stays in other member states.
Mirziyoyev also proposed establishing a Turkic Tourism Alliance to jointly develop the tourism potential of Turkic states.
According to the president, more than 40 million foreign tourists visited Turkic states in 2022. He said these opportunities could be used more effectively by jointly promoting their historic cities, unique natural landscapes and rich cultural heritage.
