In the Guzar district of the Kashkadarya region, a man who doused a woman and her four children with gasoline and set them on fire while they were still alive has been sentenced to life imprisonment. Two of the children died as a result of the incident. According to reports, the event took place on May 15, 2026. The defendant, S.T., went to the woman’s home and got into an argument with her. He then poured gasoline—which he had brought with him in a five-liter container—over the woman and her four minor children and set them on fire. The woman and two of her children survived the incident; however, her 6-year-old son and 11-year-old daughter died from severe burn injuries. During the trial, the victim requested that the defendant receive the maximum possible sentence. By the verdict of the Kamashi District Court for Criminal Cases, S.T. was found guilty under the Criminal Code—specifically regarding charges of intentional homicide, attempted homicide, and the intentional destruction of property—and was sentenced to life imprisonment.
