GPT-4 scored 297 points by passing a lawyer's examination conducted by two professors and two employees of Casetext legal technologies. The bar exam includes essays and tests in the legal direction, as well as multiple-choice questions.
GPT-4 correctly answered almost 76 percent of the questions on the exam, which is 7 percent higher than the average person indicators. GPT-3, on the other hand, had answered about 50 percent of the questions correctly and failed to pass the exam.
Daniel Martin Katz, a professor at the Chicago-Kent College of law, said he was impressed by GPT-4's ability to write interesting essays and pass tests.
