In Uzbekistan, scammers are distributing malicious software via Telegram, masquerading as a keyboard application that includes the new characters of the Uzbek alphabet. According to reports, the attackers send installation files to users through private messages, urging them to download the app onto their smartphones. In reality, these files contain malicious software designed to steal passwords, read messages, and gain access to financial information. Users are advised not to download applications from unknown sources and to avoid clicking on suspicious links. It is worth noting that on October 21, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a law regarding the transition of the Uzbek alphabet to the Latin script. The new alphabet replaces "O‘" and "G‘" with "Ö" and "Ğ," and replaces the combinations "Sh" and "Ch" with the single characters "Ş" and "Ç." The transition to this new writing system will be implemented in stages.
