Private Plane Crashes in the US: All 9 People on Board Die

A private Learjet 60 aircraft has crashed in Palm Beach County, Florida, in the United States. All nine people on board perished in the incident, CNN reported.

According to reports, the aircraft was en route from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to the Bahamas. It crashed approximately 15 kilometers from Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. A fire broke out after the plane struck trees and power lines.

Prior to the crash, the pilot reported the formation of ice on the aircraft, severe turbulence, and a rapid loss of altitude. The pilot also transmitted an emergency signal to air traffic controllers. US Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy described the incident as a tragedy. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are investigating the causes of the crash.
