Hollywood star Angelina Jolie continues to attract attention not only for her acting career but also for her environmental conservation initiatives.

According to La Nación, the actress purchased approximately 39 hectares of land near the Samlaut forest in Cambodia. Meanwhile, her foundation supports the protection of 60,994 hectares of natural habitat across the country's Battambang and Pailin provinces.

Once heavily threatened by illegal poaching, the area is now being protected to provide a safer habitat for numerous rare wildlife species.

According to reports, the protected area is home to 30 species of mammals, 140 species of birds, and endangered Asian elephants.

Jolie's initiative aims to preserve Cambodia's natural environment and protect its endangered wildlife.
