The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has rescheduled the 2027 Asian Cup, which is set to be held in Saudi Arabia. The tournament will now begin on December 23, 2027, and conclude on January 21, 2028.
Previously, the competition was scheduled to take place from January 7 to February 5, 2027. Consequently, the start of the championship has been postponed by nearly a year. Saudi Arabia remains the host of the tournament.
According to the AFC, this decision was made in light of emergency situations in the region, logistical challenges, and disruptions to transport services.
The Uzbekistan national team will also participate in the Asian Cup. In the group stage, the squad—coached by Fabio Cannavaro—will face Jordan, North Korea, and Bahrain.
Under the new schedule, Uzbekistan will play against Jordan on December 24, 2027, North Korea on December 28, 2027, and Bahrain on January 2, 2028. No further details have been provided yet regarding the specific cities or stadiums where the matches will be held.
